Motor

There are two types of DC motors: the Brush DC motor and the Brushless DC motor. Some are equipped with a planetary gearbox which generates a superior level of torque for the same amount of power. It is available with the following bikes: ScooBike eZee Forza, Sprint, Quando, Torq, Forte, Cadence and Carro. Where the Brushless DC motor doesn’t need any maintenance, experience has shown that the Brush DC motor has an average life of 20,000 km. The Brushless motor needs a slightly more sophisticated controller since it must handle the functions usually carried out by the brush. The motors featured in the eZee ScooBike range are, amongst other things, equipped with a free wheel and a planetary gearbox which heightens the torque.

Controller

It is the key element in transferring the energy generated by the motor to the pedal sensor. The complexity of the circuit and algorhythms identified by the microcontoller vary depending on the model.

Batteries

It’s the critical element in fixing the cost of a bike. The energy stored by the battery is the product of Voltag e(V) times Amps (Ah) .This is converted into Watts. (Wh). Example: ScooBike eZee Forza (37Vx10Ah=370Wh).
The battery price is directly linked to its value in Watts. The bikes in the eZee ScooBike range are equipped with Lithium-Polymer batteries which have an average life of over 600 charges.

Frames

All the Scoobike models are built with welded aluminium tubing. Just like mountain bikes or pushbikes, the strength and performance depends on the aluminium alloy used.

Brakes

EABs need more efficient brakes than a standard bike. That is why we use only the best disk brakes and brake components available from Shimano and Tektro in our eZee ScooBike 2009 range.
